What EchoFind does
Identify — tap once and EchoFind listens, then names what it hears from a library of common household sounds. Classification runs on your device in real time.
Locate — start Locate and walk slowly through the room; the app tracks your path with your phone's motion sensors and shows where the sound is loudest.
Why some results say "Experimental"
This release reliably detects common ambient, biological, and human sounds. Detection of specialty mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical sounds is experimental and labelled as such in the app. Treat those results as hints, not conclusions.
Permissions
- Microphone — required to identify sounds. Audio stays on the device.
- Motion — required for Locate. Motion data stays on the device.
Both can be changed at any time in iOS Settings → EchoFind.
Report a problem
Email [email protected]. Include your iPhone model, iOS version, and what you were doing when the problem happened. Nothing is collected automatically, so this is the only way we hear about issues.
Not a safety device. EchoFind is an informational tool only. If you suspect an electrical, gas, water, or fire hazard, stop and contact a licensed professional or your utility — do not rely on this app.
